Lake Nakuru National Park in the environs of the city of Nakuru is 188km2. It provides sanctuary to one of the largest populations of rhinos as well as the Rothschild giraffe.

It’s an alkaline lake which attracts flamingos which generally feed on the gree algae that grows in this lake.
The park is home to over 450 species of birds and therefore a bird watches paradise. The park is home to all but one of the big five namely the elephant. Large herds of zebras, the African buffaloes, waterbucks and various gazelles and impalas can be spotted here with the baboon cliff and the out of Africa viewpoints you can see the whole lake and most of the beautiful scenery of rolling hills and plain surrounding the lake.
